Youssef En-Nesyri might be on the move once more – and this time, Saudi Arabia is calling.
After a prolific season with Fenerbahçe, where he netted 30 goals and chipped in with seven assists across 52 games, the Moroccan forward has caught the eye of Al Hilal. The Saudi giants, who have just brought in Simone Inzaghi as manager, are ready to splash €40 million to lure him away from Istanbul.
Fenerbahçe, who signed En-Nesyri from Sevilla for €19.5 million last year, are open to the deal. And they’re not the only ones who stand to gain.
Sevilla smartly included a 10% sell-on clause, meaning they’d pocket around €4 million from the transfer – a considerable sum at a time when they’re missing out on European competition.
This isn’t the first time Saudi clubs have come knocking. Al Nassr had tried their luck with a €35 million offer last January, but Fenerbahçe held firm. Now, with a bigger bid on the table and En-Nesyri reportedly open to a new challenge after much backlash from fans in recent weeks, the stars might be aligning.
If the move goes through, Fenerbahçe could use the cash to go after Aleksandar Mitrovic, who ironically plays for Al Hilal, as they look to bolster their frontline once again and compete for silverware next season.
