Rabat — A tragedy took place in Algiers on Saturday after a stadium barrier collapsed at the July 5 Stadium during a match between Mouloudia Club d’Alger and NC Magra.
Several fans fell from the upper stands, killing one supporter and injuring 11 others.
Converging reports said the National Football League canceled the trophy presentation ceremony.
President of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune conveyed his condolences to the family of the deceased, following the tragic incident.

“We extend our condolences to his family, fellow supporters, and the entire Mouloudia d’Alger team,” Tebboune wrote on X.
He also wished a swift recovery for the other fans who were injured.
“I also pray to the Almighty for a swift recovery for the injured and their safe return to their loved ones as soon as possible,” Tebboune added.
