Rabat – Qatar’s leader, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, received a phone call on Monday from King Mohammed VI, who renewed Morocco’s full solidarity with Qatar and strongly condemned the Iranian missile strike on the US Al-Udeid Air Base.

According to the Qatari news agency QNA, the monarch described the Iranian attack as a blatant violation of the sovereignty of Qatar and its airspace.

The attack is also against international law and the United Nations Charter.

The statement added that the Moroccan King also stressed his firm rejection of any aggression that “threatens the security and safety of Qatar and undermines the security and stability of the region.”

He also called on the Qatari emir to exercise restraint and resort to diplomatic solutions.

For his part, the Qatari Emir expressed his gratitude to the Moroccan monarch “for his sincere fraternal sentiments and his valued solidarity with the State of Qatar and its people,” the statement concluded.

Morocco conveyed its position against Iran’s missiles on a US military base in Qatar, condemning it as a violation of Qatari sovereignty and airspace.

Earlier today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also pledged support and said that it backs the Gulf country in the face of “anything that may affect its security and the safety of its citizens.”

Many countries have joined the growing support for Qatar, pledging full support for Doha amid the Iranian attack.

Saudi Arabia also condemned the aggression, noting that it views the attack as a flagrant violation of international law and the principles of good neighborliness.

Riyadh also said that it’s ready to deploy all its capabilities to support Qatar in all measures it deems necessary.

Converging reports said Iran contacted the US before the missiles.

The US confirmed that no casualties were reported following the attack.

Alongside Qatar, Iranian missiles also struck a US base in Iraq.
