The National League of Professional Football has officially warned the 16 Botola clubs that they could be barred from the summer transfer market due to unresolved financial issues.
In a statement released this week, the league cited a failure to comply with financial reporting requirements as of March 31, 2025. The warning follows a letter sent to all top-tier and second-division clubs on May 16 regarding their fiscal obligations.Â
Among the clubs facing potential sanctions are: Wydad Athletic Club, Kawkab Athlétique Club de Marrakech, Union Sportive Yacoub El Mansour, Olympique Club de Safi, Ittihad Riadi de Tanger and Union Sportive Musulmane d’Oujda.
Other affected sides include: Stade Marocain, Raja Beni Mellal, Club Jeunesse Ben Guerir, Jeunesse Sportive d’El-Massira, Mouloudia Club d’Oujda, Mogreb Atlético Tetuán, Widad Sportif de Témara, Union Sportive Boujaad, Sporting Club Chabab Mohammédia, and Wydad de Fès.
The league has confirmed officially that these clubs have not responded in any way, and the compiled clubs that submitted their financial files under the set headline, are currently under review.
If the situation is not resolved, the 16 clubs could be banned from registering new players in the Botola during the upcoming transfer window.Â
