Midfielder Pablo Torre has left Barcelona to join Mallorca RDC on a four-year deal as their first signing of this summer transfer window.
The deal, worth €5 million, includes a buy-back clause for Barcelona and 50% of any future resale value.
Torre, 22, has taken this decision seeking more game time, with limited opportunities at Barcelona due to competition from Pedri, Gavi, Dani Olmo and Fermín Lopez.
The young midfielder joined the Spanish club from Racing Santander in 2022, and left with two La Liga titles, two Spanish Super Cups and one Copa del Rey.
Torre spent the 2023/24 season on loan to Girona, where he played 29 games, scored one goal and provided two assists. He made 27 appearances in the other two seasons with Barcelona, where he scored five goals and provided four assists.
“My first games in professional football, my first goals, my first titles, playing with the best. The first times are never forgotten. Thank you @fcbarcelona.” Torre sent his farewells to Barcelona in an Instagram post.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Torre’s exit alongside Fati’s move to Monaco have freed up €12 million in wages for the club.
