Walid Sabbar officially joins Wydad

Rabat – Wydad Athletic Club (WAC) has officially executed the transfer deal of Moroccan player Walid Sabbar on a two-year contract, coming from RCA Zemamra.

Club president Hicham Ait Mena officially secured Sabbar’s deal following a series of extended negotiations, now making it official that Sabbar will be joining the Casablanca club.

Sabbar, who was under contract at Zemamra until 2026, makes the switch after registering three goals and three assists in 21 Botola Pro appearances last season, playing a total of 1,845 minutes. The move, which will be announced later this day, sees him join the Reds first-tier.

In addition to Sabbar, the club has finalized a series of signings in recent months during the summer transfer window including Brazilian defender Guilherme Ferreira, Dutch center-back Bart Meijers, as well as Hamza Hannouri, Nordin Amrabat, Stéphane Aziz Ki, Hamza El Ouasti, Abdelghafour Lamirat, and Joseph Bakasu – all as  part of a comprehensive rebuilding strategy ahead of the 2025–26 season.

The squad also sees the return of captain Yahya Jabrane, following an agreement with the club’s management.
