Rabat — As the Israeli-induced starvation continues to claim the lives of civilian Gazans, the Global Movement to Gaza Morocco flotilla has announced it is sailing to Gaza in the next few days.
Global Movement to Gaza Morocco consists of independent Moroccan youth who organized in June the “March of the Free to Break the Siege on Gaza,” which aimed to reach Cairo before heading to the Rafah crossing and eventually getting into Gaza.
Unfortunately, Egyptian authorities blocked the march before it could complete its mission.
The movement now plans to participate in organizing a maritime flotilla heading to Gaza.
Morocco’s participation will include two ships: one exclusively Moroccan vessel and another joint ship carrying participants from Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia.
This arrangement is designed to strengthen Morocco’s presence and significantly increase the number of Moroccan participants, according to organizers.

International flotilla details
The international flotilla comprises dozens of ships representing more than 44 countries.
The fleet will depart from two central points: Spain on August 31 and Tunisia on September 4. Each boat will carry participants from multiple nationalities as part of a broad international solidarity effort.
The group opened registration to all Moroccans and international volunteers, and many Moroccans have expressed interest. According to organizers, registration has seen substantial representation from the North African country.
After registration closed, organizers implemented a careful selection process based on commitment to non-violence, ability to handle pressure, psychological capacity for the journey’s hardships, and potential impact.
Team structure and support
Morocco’s participation will involve two complementary teams. The first team will sail aboard the ships as Morocco’s direct representatives, including sailing crew, prominent national figures, medical professionals, academics, journalists, engineers, and coordinators.
The second team will work from land, handling coordination and logistical, media, and mobilization support.
The movement is now calling on all national and international forces to spread awareness of the initiative, launch media campaigns, and support the mission through field activities inside and outside the country, especially targeting Moroccan communities abroad.
Several organizations are participating in the flotilla, including Global Movement to Gaza, Freedom Flotilla activists, Maghreb Resistance Flotilla, and East Asian Initiative Fleet SUMOUD NUSANTARA.
The flotilla represents a coordinated international effort to challenge the Israeli-induced blockade of Gaza, which further deepened the plight of Gazans with the emergence of an acute shortage of essential food items. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, starvation claimed the lives of 10 people, including two children, in the past 24 hours.
The latest data from the ministry indicate that Israeli-imposed starvation on Gaza brought the enclave’s hunger-related death toll to 313, of which 119 are children.
