Rabat – Morocco’s national team for local players is ready to fight for the title at the African Nations Championship (CHAN), with the final against Madagascar set for Saturday at Moi International Stadium in Kasarani, Nairobi.

Mohamed Moufid, a key player for Morocco, said Friday that the team’s main goal is to bring the CHAN trophy back home. He added that the final will be tough and decided by small details, and that Madagascar will not be an easy opponent.

The Malagasy team might show a different side in the final, but the Moroccan squad is prepared to face them and win their third title, the player said.

Teammate Imad Riahi emphasized that the team has prepared carefully for all aspects of the match. Noting that Madagascar is a strong team with both strengths and weaknesses, the Atlas Lion said the team analyzed their performance during the tournament and are ready for any scenario.

Meanwhile, Head coach Tarik Sektioui also expressed confidence in the Moroccan team. Speaking at a press conference today, he said Morocco has all the technical and physical qualities to win the title.

“Confidence and determination are the keys to victory,” he stressed.

Sektioui acknowledged that “Madagascar is a tough team” and their place in the final is well-deserved. But he said the team is optimistic about the outcome of the final.

“Morocco is the only team that traveled across the three host countries for this edition, but this gives us the will and determination to overcome challenges and seize the title,” the coach concluded.

Morocco reached the final after beating Senegal in a penalty shootout (5-3), while Madagascar advanced after a 1-0 win over Sudan.
