Rabat — FIFA President Gianni Infantino commended Morocco’s victory in CHAN 2024, hailing the country’s growing dominance in African football.
Speaking to the press the FIFA head said “I am very happy for Morocco, which won its third CHAN title and proved it deserves this achievement.”
Infantino called Morocco “a great football country” and said the third championship confirms the team’s superiority at the continental level.
Morocco secured its third African Nations Championship (CHAN) title yesterday, defeating Madagascar 3-2 in a thrilling final at Nairobi’s Moi International Stadium.
Infantino acknowledged the competitive nature of the final, saying it “was not easy to win this match — it was a difficult encounter and a real final by all standards.”
He pointed out that Morocco earned the title on merit and proved they were the best team in the tournament.
The FIFA president also commended the enthusiasm of the fans, which he said reflects the development that African football continues to experience.
He expressed his great happiness “for Africa, for Morocco, and for FIFA.”
The victory extends Morocco’s remarkable run in continental competitions and reinforces its status as one of Africa’s premier football nations.
The CHAN tournament, which exclusively features players competing in their domestic leagues, displays local talent and provides a platform for African football development.
With this third CHAN title, Morocco joins an elite group of nations that have dominated the competition since the beginning.
