Rabat — Multinational pharmaceutical and healthcare company Sanofi has announced the appointment of Rami Mroueh as chairman and chief executive officer of Sanofi Morocco.
Mroueh took office for his new duty on September 1. He is also in charge of Sanofi Pharma activities in Tunisia and Libya.
Mroueh has succeeded Najla Cherif Hamdi. With a degree in pharmaceuticals from EM Lyon Business School, Mroueh joined Sanofi in 2008.
He held several positions within the company, including general manager at Sanofi Vaccines in the Czech Republic.
Mroueh was also the general manager at Sanofi Vaccines in Ukraine from 2018 to January 2023. During that time, from May 2022 to January 2023, he spent nine months in the same role serving both Greece and Cyprus as well.
According to the multinational group, Mroueh will bring to Sanofi Morocco “solid international experience as well as a strategic vision focused on innovation and growth.”
In 2024, Sanofi said it exceeded its expectations last year to achieve “strong sales growth.”
“Going forward, innovation will remain our key driver for launch excellence, as we become a fully focused, science-driven biopharma company,” Sanofi quoted its Chief Executive Officer, Paul Hudson, as saying.
The company’s full-year sales last year amounted to €41.081 billion.
