Rabat — Morocco’s National Defense Administration has urgently called on Apple users to update their device systems immediately.

The administration issued the warning on September 16, following the discovery of severe security vulnerabilities that officials describe as “critical” in terms of their danger and potential impact.

An official statement indicated that the security flaws affect numerous Apple operating systems, including watchOS, visionOS, tvOS, macOS across various versions, iOS, iPadOS, Xcode, and Safari.

Older versions of the latest approved releases face exploitation risks from malicious actors, it added, listing multiple global security vulnerability identifiers (CVE).

Not only is the situation critical, but it has a widespread scope, according to the administration.

The detected vulnerabilities are likely to allow attackers to remotely execute code, gain unauthorized access to user data, and manipulate privilege levels within devices.

The flaws also constitute risks of service disruption and security policy bypasses, directly threatening the privacy and protection of personal information and sensitive data for millions of users.

Apple releases security updates

Upon discovery of the security vulnerabilities, Apple released emergency security updates on September 15 to address them and protect devices from potential attacks.

The national administration strongly urged iPhone, iPad, Mac computer users, and owners of other Apple products to install these updates as soon as possible.

Officials also warn users not to underestimate these alerts, as delays could result in serious breaches and losses that may prove difficult to recover from.

The warning further confirms the scale of challenges posed by modern cyber attacks. It means both individuals and institutions need to keep up with technical updates continuously, since these updates serve as the first line of defense against hacking and piracy attempts that evolve at an accelerating pace.
