Morocco have moved up to 11th place in the latest FIFA world rankings, released on Thursday morning.
The Atlas Lions gained seven points compared to July’s table, taking their tally to 1706 points and overtaking Germany after defeat to Slovakia, who slipped to 12th.
On the continent, Morocco continue to lead the African and Arab rankings, ahead of Senegal in 18th, Egypt in 35th and Algeria in 38th.
Morocco’s ascension comes after recent results in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, where they beat Niger 5-0 and won 2-0 away against Zambia.
The team’s next target is to break into the top 10 of the world rankings in the coming months. They host Congo Brazzaville on 13 October and have a friendly match still to be confirmed.
