Rabat — Morocco has brought to light its model for public-private partnerships on Sunday during the “Public-Private Partnership Summit for Change.”
Taking place in New York, the summit brought together leaders from major American and international companies in strategic dialogue with senior government officials.
The meeting, held on the eve of the UN General Assembly’s high-level week, examined the best ways to strengthen and activate public-private partnerships as a fundamental driver of growth and innovation.
The high-level summit featured notable participation from the presidents of Togo and Sierra Leone, alongside prominent figures including Patrice Motsepe, president of the Confederation of African Football and a leading African businessman, as well as Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi.
Morocco’s Ambassador to the US, Youssef Amrani, noted the distinctive features of the Moroccan model, “built on credibility, decisive action, and unwavering commitment to promoting inclusive growth.”
Amrani also explained that the private sector serves not only as a partner but as a genuine engine of Morocco’s national development strategy.
He noted that public-private partnerships represent a two-way dynamic, showing how major structural reforms initiated by Morocco under the leadership of King Mohammed VI have created an optimal framework for integration between enterprises and the business sector.
“Morocco today stands out as a natural platform for hosting international companies, thanks to carefully crafted mechanisms including attractive tax incentives, engagement in competitive clusters, and strong guarantees for investment protection,” he noted.
Regarding Morocco’s position in the African continent’s atmosphere, the Moroccan diplomat pointed out the country’s “positioning itself as an ideal platform for establishing a strong African presence, benefiting from geographical proximity to Europe and wide openness to the Atlantic space.”
He confirmed Morocco’s model clearly demonstrates its ability to combine political vision, institutional commitment, and entrepreneurial dynamism.
The Moroccan Ambassador concluded that in a world seeking clarity of vision and trust, the North African country presents itself not only as a stabilizing force but also as a land of opportunities, open to all those who aspire to collaborate towards building shared prosperity.
