Anass Zaroury was the star as Panathinaikos thumped Young Boys 4-1 in their Europa League group opener.
The Greek side started quickly, with Karol Swiderski scoring in the 10th minute. Just three minutes later, Zaroury doubled the lead, firing a neat finish to put Panathinaikos ahead. Young Boys pulled one back in the 25th minute through Saidi Janko, but Zaroury struck again in the 19th minute, scoring his second and Panathinaikos’ third to make it 3-1 before half-time.

Zaroury completed his hat-trick in the 68th minute, sealing the win and showing his quality on the European stage. The 24-year-old Moroccan, on loan from Lens, has played seven games for Panathinaikos so far and has already made a big impact.
He impressed with his movement, calm finishing, and ability to link play with his teammates. Zaroury’s performance shows why Panathinaikos wanted him on loan, and he looks revive his career after a disappointing spell at Lens, and is set to be a key player in their European campaign.
