Marrakech – A strategic partnership between Attijari Payment, Visa, and Moroccan fintech Woliz was announced on Friday, September 26, in Casablanca. The collaboration aims to accelerate payment digitalization in Morocco, particularly in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.

The agreement integrates Attijari Payment’s innovative acceptance solutions into Woliz’s offerings to meet the specific needs of merchants and FMCG sector players. The partnership leverages Visa’s global expertise in payment technologies and financial education.

“This agreement reflects our commitment to support merchants in their transition to modern and inclusive payment solutions,” said Fahd Bettache, CEO of Attijari Payment. He added that their goal is to provide simplicity and efficiency for merchants in their daily operations.

Visa’s role focuses on ensuring financial services accessibility for all. “In combining our global expertise with local agility, we are actively working to provide reliable, secure, and adapted payment solutions to help Moroccan merchants thrive in the digital age,” explained Sami Romdhane, General Manager of Visa Morocco.

Kamal El Hardouzi, founder of Woliz, stressed customer expectations: “Our merchant partners primarily expect simple, fast solutions adapted to their needs.” He described the partnership’s vision of building “an ecosystem where FMCG, merchants, and financial institutions unite their efforts to promote sustainable financial inclusion that creates value.”

The alliance brings together complementary strengths: the agility of a local fintech, the technological power of a global leader, and the proven expertise of a reference player in payment acceptance. This combination opens new possibilities for accelerating the digital transformation of payments in Morocco.

This partnership extends Attijari Payment’s commercial momentum following its merchant acquisition service launch in July. The initiative came after receiving payment institution approval from Bank Al-Maghrib on March 13, positioning the company as a key player in electronic payment processing.

During that launch, Bettache had stated: “We are fully mobilized to support Moroccan merchants and businesses with secure, simple, and efficient solutions, serving the national digital transformation.”

Attijari Payment offers businesses comprehensive payment solutions, including various types of electronic payment terminals (fixed, mobile, integrated, or clustered for multi-site retailers) as well as online payment options.
