Romanian side CFR Cluj have set their sights on Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech as their next marquee signing, shortly after confirming the arrival of former Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma.
According to Pro Sport, Cluj are now pursuing the 32-year-old winger, who is currently a free agent following his spell with Al Duhail in Qatar. The move is being driven by recruitment advisor Mikaël Silvestre – instrumental in securing the signings of Islam Slimani and Marcus Coco – alongside club president Ioan Varga.
Ziyech, who has also attracted interest from Ajax Amsterdam, has reportedly asked for a few days to make a decision with his family. CFR Cluj hope to convince the former Chelsea and Morocco star to join their ambitious project as they continue strengthening their squad with experienced international players.
Ziyech, valued at around €4.5m, enjoyed an illustrious career across Europe, with standout spells at Ajax and Chelsea before moving to Qatar. His potential signing would represent another major coup for Cluj as they look to build a team capable of competing at the highest level.
