Veteran right-back Dani Carvajal misses out due to injury, with his return expected later this month.
Surprisingly, Alvaro Carreras – one of Real Madrid’s standout performers since his summer arrival – has been left out despite consistent form and versatility.
Instead, De la Fuente has opted to stick with his trusted left-back pairing of Alejandro Grimaldo and Marc Cucurella.
Other Madrid names like Raul Asencio, Dani Ceballos, Fran Garcia, and Gonzalo Garcia were also excluded from the list.
Barcelona sees five of its players called up: Lamine Yamal – despite recent injury concerns and club protests – Pedri, Ferran Torres, Pau Cubarsí, and Dani Olmo.
