Rabat — Morocco’s National Institute of Posts and Telecommunications (INPT) and Al Mada Foundation unveiled the country’s first Data and AI Master’s program on Monday.

The launch marks a milestone in the country’s tech education landscape, with the program standing out as the only one in Morocco to combine academic training with paid work-study experience.

The two-year Master’s program targets graduates who hold bachelor’s degrees in mathematics, computer science, or physics. Students will complete a common core curriculum in their first year before specializing in their second year.

What makes this program unique is its paid work-study model, which integrates classroom learning with hands-on corporate experience throughout the entire two-year journey. The initiative aims to produce a new generation of highly skilled professionals who can drive Morocco’s digital and technological transformation.

The inaugural class of 30 students began coursework on September 22, following a rigorous selection process that included academic record reviews, written exams, and oral assessments. These students will start their first corporate immersion in January 2026.

Four major Moroccan companies — Attijariwafa bank, inwi, Managem, and Marjane Group — support the program and will host students during predetermined periods. These corporate partners will work alongside INPT to mentor students throughout their studies.

Al Mada Foundation and its partners cover the training costs. The faculty includes research professors and experienced professionals who teach using real-world cases from partner companies. The curriculum focuses on soft skills to prepare students to become key players in Morocco’s digital transformation.

The program responds to a business environment where data and artificial intelligence reshape economic models and redefine essential corporate skills. It trains data scientists and data engineers who combine technical expertise with strategic vision and digital responsibility.

“The future of our economies, businesses, and societies depends on how we master and responsibly use data and AI,” said the president of Al Mada Foundation Hassan Ouriagli.

“We’ve reached a pivotal moment where these technologies have become a strategic imperative, not an option.”

Ouriagli pointed out that the program invests in human capital to prepare talents who can not only handle cutting-edge technological tools but also understand their ethical, economic, and social implications. He expressed hope that the Master’s would serve as a hub for ideas, innovation, and cooperation between academia and business.

Meanwhile, Ahmed Tamtaoui, INPT’s interim director, said the program fully embodies the institute’s mission to train highly qualified professionals capable of tackling the country’s major digital and technological transformation challenges.

“Through this partnership with Al Mada Foundation, we offer our students top-tier training that combines academic rigor with professional experience to prepare the talents Morocco needs for its future,” Tamtaoui added.

The pilot program plans to expand in the coming years to train growing numbers of students. Through this initiative, Al Mada Foundation reinforces its commitment to “Positive Impact” by supporting quality education focused on future careers that align with real market needs.

INPT, meanwhile, confirms its position as a national leader in excellence training that serves Morocco’s digital transformation.
