Dakhla — Marjane’s Board of Directors appointed Mourad Alem as the company’s new president and CEO today, replacing Ayoub Azami, who will move to a new role within the Al Mada Group.

Alem brings over 30 years of international experience in the home appliance and equipment industry, where he developed and led regional subsidiaries for major multinational corporations.

Marjane’s newly appointed executive started his career in France, working in telecommunications and events management before joining Whirlpool.

There, he launched and expanded operations in Morocco, North Africa, and West Africa. He later directed multiple regions for the company covering Southeast Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Alem also served as general director for Electrolux, overseeing the Mediterranean and Africa regions.

He holds degrees from KEDGE Business School and University College Dublin.

“The Board congratulated Mr. Ayoub Azami for the work accomplished during his ten years leading the Marjane Group and thanked him for his commitment and contribution to the company’s projects. Mr. Ayoub Azami now passes the baton to Mr. Mourad Alem, whom we wish full success in his new role,” the Board said in a statement.

Azami led Marjane for a decade before accepting his new responsibilities with Al Mada — the parent company.

The leadership transition takes effect immediately.
