Rabat – Morocco manager Mohamed Ouahbi confirmed he will not risk playing anyone who is not 100% fit for their 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 16 match against Canada.
The Moroccan Coach stressed that only fully fit players will feature in the starting XI to ensure the Atlas Lions maintain their high-intensity style in the Round of 16.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, the Moroccan tactician provided a crucial update on defender Chadi Riad, who is fighting to be fit for the Canada clash. While acknowledging the injury, the manager offered a reassuring update on the center-back’s recovery.
“Chadi Riad took a hit to his knee during the last match and felt some discomfort there, but it doesn’t look too serious,” Ouahbi said. “He was with us at training today, and we will see this evening just how ready he is.”
Ouahbi remains confident in his squad’s overall condition and depth; he made it clear that he expects maximum effort and fitness from his starting lineup.
“The important thing is that everyone is doing well,” he added. “All I can say is that the players who take part in the match will be 100% ready, and only those who are 100% fit will play tomorrow.” The high-stakes Round of 16 clash against Canada will take place today at Houston Stadium in Texas, with kick-off set for 6:00 PM Moroccan time.
As they head out onto the pitch, the Atlas Lions are completely focused on making history and reaching the World Cup quarterfinals.
