Rabat – The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) reportedly killed at least nine people in Gaza between Monday midnight and Tuesday.
Palestinian news agency Wafa quoted today local sources who said that the killed Palestinians were transferred to two local hospitals.
Seven victims were killed today, while two others were injured from Israeli airstrikes.
The new airstrikes came just days after Trump’s ceasefire announcement.
Palestinian news agency said despite the ceasefire going into effect on Friday last week, the death toll in the region continued to rise. It has reached 67,913 since October 2023, while at least 170,134 have been injured.
“Rescue teams and crews have recovered more than 250 bodies since the ceasefire went into effect, some of which were in the streets. Crews are facing a severe shortage of heavy equipment needed to remove the rubble, while more than 10,000 people remain under the rubble,” the news agency said.
Egypt has recently gathered world leaders, including Trump, to discuss the recent ceasefire and situation in Gaza.
The international community has been pledging support for Gaza’s reconstruction, with UNDP estimating the cost of rebuilding Gaza at $70 billion.
Despite the widespread condemnation of Israel’s blockade and genocidal campaign in Gaza, the humanitarian catastrophe in the Palestinian enclave has only worsened in recent weeks. Israel has banned humanitarian supplies, including food, hygiene kits, medicine, and others, from entering the war-torn enclave, UNRWA said today. “We have enough food for the entire population for 3 months waiting in Egypt and Jordan,” the UN body wrote on X.
