Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal continues to impress on the pitch, but off it, the club is reportedly worried about the growing influence of his father, Mounir Nasraoui.
Former Spain striker Dani Güiza issued a blunt warning on El Cafelito de Josep Pedrerol, saying: “Lamine is very good, but his father should step aside a bit for the boy’s own good. He’s the one playing football, not his father.”
Güiza, who experienced fame early in his own career, added: “He can be one of the best in the world, but if the people around him don’t help, he could get stuck. The mind moves fast at that age.”
According to reports, Barcelona’s coaching staff and board share similar concerns. Club sources told Spanish media that Joan Laporta and Deco have already spoken privately with the teenager, urging him to stay grounded and focused.
Nasraoui’s frequent social media posts and media appearances have not gone down well at the club, which wants to shield its young star from unnecessary attention.
The latest incident came when Yamal was seen in Croatia taking a helicopter ride with singer Nicki Nicole, while the club expected him to be resting in Barcelona. Though he broke no rules, it raised eyebrows among staff.
At just 18, Yamal already carries the pressure of wearing Barcelona’s famous No.10 shirt and being touted as Spain’s next big hope.
Club insiders say the goal now is to protect his development and ensure that family influence doesn’t derail one of football’s brightest prospects.
