Rabat — Morocco’s ticket sales for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finally launched successfully on October 14, after two failed attempts plagued by technical problems.
More than 24 hours later, organizers revealed that fans have already purchased 137,250 tickets out of 400,000 available.
Morocco will host Africa’s biggest football tournament in just a few weeks.
Organizers originally scheduled ticket sales to begin on September 25, but bugs and technical malfunctions forced them to postpone.
Neither the Confederation of African Football (CAF) nor the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) explained the delays to the public.
Officials set a new launch date for October 13, but the same problems struck again. Frustrated football fans finally got their chance to buy tickets the following day.
The Organizing Committee clarified in a statement today that the 400,000 tickets represent the “first sales phase and account for one-third of the total tickets available for the competition, covering all 52 matches of CAN 2025.”
The committee plans two more sales phases — the second will open on October 25 with another third of tickets, and the third and final phase launches on November 25.
The Yalla app, which fans must use to create a mandatory FanID before purchasing tickets, has to date received 211,078 FanID requests.
By 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, organizers had issued 170,350 FanIDs, including 43,865 to people from foreign nations. These international fans represent 124 different countries.
Each FanID allows holders to buy only one ticket per match. Fans can purchase tickets exclusively through the official website.
Organizers also set up a hotline at +212 5 30 30 20 30 to help ticket buyers navigate the process.
