Rabat – The world’s biggest tech expo, GITEX Global, is wrapping up its 45th edition today in Dubai, which saw 6,800 exhibitors, 2,000 startups, and representatives from 180 countries on the showroom floor. The week is closing after five days of summits, conferences, speakers, and workshops which focused on AI, sustainable tech, and cybersecurity.
Among the companies exhibiting is DigitalOcean, an intuitive platform which seeks to make cloud infrastructure accessible and simple for its customers.
The American company was founded in 2012 after realizing a gap in the tech industry for rapidly-scaling businesses creating websites, apps, and software. These big cloud companies must deal with massive, and costly hyperscalers – which only become increasingly complex as their usage grows.
The issue, however, is the limited alternatives, which are usually smaller, unreliable cloud providers that lack robustness.
In an interview with Morocco World News (MWN), Suhaib Zaheer, Senior Vice President and General Manager of DigitalOcean explained that the need to solve this problem for businesses inspired the creation of DigitalOcean.
“DigitalOcean hits the sweet spot for startups and AI-native businesses by providing robust cloud and AI tools with straightforward pricing and excellent support.”
Catering to all businesses big and small
DigitalOcean is focused on simplicity and innovation – meeting the needs of businesses that are both growing rapidly or just learning to code.
“DigitalOcean’s comprehensive agentic cloud empowers developers at AI-native businesses and digital native enterprises to build full-stack AI applications with straightforward tools,” said Suhaib, emphasizing the unique AI tools in their products which allow users to avoid the typical barriers that come with many cloud providers.
One of DigitalOcean’s first products was the “Droplet.” It allows users to simply choose their operating system, data center, and features like disk space and backups, then simply deploy the product to create a website, run code, or host services.
Droplet is in line with DigitalOcean’s existing comprehensive products and those yet to come that “package core cloud infrastructure with agentic tooling in one intuitive platform.”
DigitalOcean dives deep into the AI world
When asked if the company had any plans to utilize and implement AI in its services beyond deep learning, workloads, and production scale applications, Suhaib said “AI Agents will be at the center of future innovation… every digital company will rely on agentic AI to build and deploy software in the near future.”
He emphasized that the company is “at the forefront of this agentic revolution by offering AI services at every layer, from GPUs at the infrastructure layer, to AI agents like Cloudways AI Copilot, which provides AI-powered diagnostics for websites.”
Making waves at GITEX Global 2025
Alongside DigitalOcean’s eagerness to showcase its AI solutions to a GITEX audience, Suhaib said DigitalOcean is “excited for GITEX attendees to see what’s possible on an intuitive cloud platform that is tailor made to startups and AI-native businesses.”
The company is well-established; one of the world’s largest cloud platforms – with over 640,000 customers – and has been showcasing its up-and-coming features and innovations this week at GITEX.
As GITEX Global closes today, DigitalOcean continues to look forward to the digital world, cloud computing, and AI, especially in the MENA region.
“Initiatives such as our Hatch startup program are tailored to provide core services and support to startups innovating with AI, and we know there’s a large startup ecosystem in MENA that we’re excited to work with,” said Suhaib.
