Rabat – After Morocco’s historic qualification for the U-20 World Cup final in Chile, Royal Air Maroc (RAM) is organizing two special flights to transport Moroccan supporters to cheer on the Atlas Lions in this decisive match, scheduled for Sunday at 8:00 pm Moroccan time.

Each flight will be operated by a Boeing 787, with a total capacity of 600 passengers per plane. Tickets are priced at MAD 10,000 for a round-trip in economy class, non-changeable and non-refundable, and include free entry to the stadium for the final, said RAM in a press release.

Fans who are exempt from a Chilean visa or already hold a valid visa can purchase tickets directly at Royal Air Maroc agencies.

Those who require a visa must first complete an online form, then visit a RAM agency to finalize their reservation and submit the necessary documents to authorities to speed up the visa process, added the statement.

Once the visa is approved via email, they can return to the agency to receive their ticket. RAM agencies will remain open Friday until 10 pm and Saturday from 8 am to 10 pm to assist fans.

The two outbound flights from Casablanca are scheduled for October 19, with the first departing at 2:30 am and arriving in Santiago at 10:30 am, and the second leaving at 3:30 am to arrive at 12:00 pm.

The return flights from Santiago on October 20 are set for 3:00 am, arriving in Casablanca at 7:10 pm, and 4:30 am, arriving at 8:40 pm, Royal Air Maroc concluded.

‘We’re not done yet’

The Moroccan U-20 national team reached the World Cup final after defeating France 5-4 in a penalty shootout. This victory marked their first-ever appearance in a U-20 World Cup final.

The game ended in a 1–1 draw after extra time, leading to a penalty shootout. Third-choice goalkeeper Abdelhakim El Mesbahi, who had not played in any of Morocco’s previous matches, came on late in extra time and made the decisive save in the shootout, securing the 5-4 victory for Morocco

The team’s success sparked widespread celebrations across Morocco. In cities like Rabat, Casablanca, and Fez, hundreds of fans took to the streets, waving flags, honking car horns, and singing patriotic songs to celebrate the historic achievement

Head coach Mohamed Ouahbi expressed immense pride in his team’s performance. “We pressed high and created real chances to finish the game in regulation time. But fatigue set in during the latter stages, which is natural at this level. What mattered most was keeping our composure in the tough moments,” he said after the game.

“We’re not done yet!” the coach stated as his focus remains on the final match to bring the trophy home

Morocco will face Argentina in the U-20 World Cup final. The Latin American team has a perfect record in the tournament, as they have won all their matches and are considered a formidable opponent.

Morocco’s U-20 team’s success is part of a broader resurgence in Moroccan football. The national team’s strong performances in recent international competitions have fueled optimism and pride among fans, especially as Morocco’s main team gears up for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
