Rabat – The President of the Arab Football Federation, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, congratulated Morocco for winning the FIFA U-20 World Cup, calling it a historic achievement for Arab football.
In a post on his official account on X (formerly Twitter), Prince Abdulaziz, who is also Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, wrote: “Congratulations to our brothers in the Kingdom of Morocco for winning the U-20 World Cup. This is a historic achievement for Arab football and shows a strong presence in major international events.”
Morocco’s national team won the U-20 World Cup after defeating Argentina 2-0 in the final match held at the Julio Martínez Pradanos National Stadium in Santiago, Chile.
Yasser Zubiri scored both goals for Morocco in the 12th and 29th minutes of the first half, securing a memorable victory for the North African nation.
The Arab Football Federation’s message of congratulations reflected the pride felt across the Arab world at Morocco’s success, which marked a major moment in the history of Arab football.
