Rabat – Morocco’s youth-led movement GenZ212 has released the list of cities, locations, and times for its upcoming peaceful demonstrations scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
The movement detailed new gathering points in a statement published yesterday evening, noting several adjustments from previous mobilizations.
In Casablanca, protests will now take place in the Hay Hassani neighborhood instead of Place Maréchal downtown, which itself had replaced Place Sraghna in Derb Sultan. Similar location changes were announced for Agadir. Demonstrations are set to begin at 6 p.m.
The announcement comes after GenZ212 declared earlier this week the resumption of its peaceful mobilization following several days of suspension.
The group said the upcoming demonstrations continue the wave of nonviolent protests launched nearly a month ago to voice social and economic grievances.
“The movement has already yielded some results, notably the acceleration of efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure through the inauguration and construction of several hospitals across the country,” the statement read.
It also mentioned the government’s decision to increase budgets for the health and education sectors and introduce measures aimed at promoting integrity in political life.
Despite acknowledging these developments, GenZ212 maintains that the progress remains “insufficient” as long as “no concrete actions or clear mechanisms are implemented to combat corruption, conflicts of interest, and ensure accountability.”
The group reiterated that its mobilization will remain peaceful and inclusive, representing “the aspirations of ordinary Moroccans” seeking genuine change in governance and public services.
Since its emergence in late September, GenZ212 has become one of the most significant youth-driven civic movements in Morocco, mobilizing thousands across cities such as Rabat, Casablanca, Tangier, and Marrakech.
The protests, which began as spontaneous gatherings, have evolved into coordinated nationwide demonstrations calling for transparency, social justice, and better living conditions.
Authorities have so far allowed the gatherings to proceed with visible but restrained security presence, as the movement insists on its nonpartisan and nonviolent character. With this weekend’s demonstrations, GenZ212 appears determined to sustain public pressure while calling for long-term structural reforms.
