Morocco’s women’s national team took a loss in an international friendly at Larbi Zaouli in Casablanca on 24th October 2025, ending 2-1 for Scotland. It was the first meeting for the two teams, making this an excellent test for both sides.
Scotland got off on the right foot, grabbing the lead in the 40th minute with a goal from Erin Cuthbert. When Morocco finally managed to get going in the second half, Elodie Nakkach came alive in the 80th minute and levelled the game for her side. It looked as though it would end in a draw, but then Caroline Weir popped up in the 90th minute to give Scotland the win.
Despite having 13 shots on goal compared to Scotland’s 8, Morocco just couldn’t turn those chances into a winning score. They committed there though and showed a lot of promise, which could come in handy as they build up to the 2026 WAFCON in Morocco.
The win is a nice little boost for Scotland though, giving Melissa Andreatta’s team a bit of a confidence boost as they work towards upcoming competitions.
