Israel Kills Nearly 100 Palestinians in Gaza Since Ceasefire Began

Rabat – The Israeli Occupation Forces have killed at least 93 Palestinians in Gaza since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.

Another 324 people have been injured during the same period, the ministry added. In the past 48 hours alone, 19 people killed in Israeli attacks have arrived at Gaza hospitals, along with seven others who were wounded.

Since the start of Israel’s genocide on Gaza on October 7, 2023, the total death toll has reached 68,519 people, with 170,382 others injured, the ministry said. The death toll is believed to be way higher as thousands remain missing or buried under the rubble.

The UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, has once again urged that it be allowed to continue its humanitarian work in Gaza.

Jonathan Fowler, UNRWA’s senior communications manager, told the BBC that the International Court of Justice (ICJ) had made it clear that Israel’s current actions violate international law.

“The International Court of Justice has said very clearly that what [the Israeli Occupation Forces] are currently doing is wrong and is against all obligations that member states are meant to follow,” Fowler said.

He added that it is the duty of all UN member states to ensure that international law is respected and followed.

‘An organized terrorist policy’

UNRWA said it must be “allowed to do its work in Gaza and the rest of the occupied Palestinian territory, and accountability must come.”

The agency’s statement came a day after US Senator Marco Rubio said that the UN agency “is not going to play any role” in aid delivery in Gaza, raising concerns about the worsening humanitarian situation.

Meanwhile, a senior Hamas official, Abdul Rahman Shadid, condemned the “continued and escalating brutal attacks” by Israeli settlers on Palestinian farmers in the occupied West Bank.

Shadid said these assaults, which often occur during the olive harvest season, are part of “an organized terrorist policy” that aims to seize land and intimidate Palestinian residents.

“These attacks target land, people, and all aspects of Palestinian life in the West Bank,” he said, adding that settlers seek to “expand the settlements, terrorize residents, and force them to abandon their lands.”

Reports indicate that settler violence against farmers has increased in recent days, as many Palestinians try to reach their olive groves during the annual harvest season despite growing risks.
