Marrakech – Morocco’s leading private healthcare provider Akdital Group has signed strategic partnerships worth SAR 5.3 billion ($1.4 billion) in Saudi Arabia. The agreements, formalized during Riyadh’s Global Health Exhibitions on October 27, mark a notable waypoint in its overseas strategy.

The partnerships include two key agreements covering both development and management of a flagship hospital in Riyadh and the lease and operation of Abdulrahman Al-Mishari Hospital in the Saudi capital.

This latest development builds on Akdital’s earlier acquisition in July, when the group signed an agreement with Abdulrahman Al-Mishari for Development LLC to lease and manage the prestigious Abdulrahman Al-Mishari Hospital.

Located in Riyadh’s Al Olaya district, the economic center of Saudi Arabia’s capital, this multidisciplinary facility features over 140 beds, 500 staff members, and 44 consultation clinics. Founded in 1987, the hospital has earned national and international recognition for its medical excellence.

“This expansion marks a defining chapter in Akdital’s international strategy,” said Rochdi Talib, Chairman and CEO of Akdital Group. “By partnering with leading Saudi healthcare players, we are accelerating our global growth while bringing our expertise in hospital management and integrated care to one of the most dynamic healthcare ecosystems in the world.”

These new projects will be managed from Akdital’s regional headquarters in Riyadh, established specifically to support the group’s Middle East operations. The investment allocation includes 25% for real-estate investments led by partners, 60% for operating expenditures, and 15% for medical equipment and facility outfitting jointly financed by Akdital and its financial partners.

This Saudi expansion follows Akdital’s earlier moves in the Gulf region. In April, the company signed a $200 million deal with Saudi real estate developers Wataniyah Business Real Estate and Namaya to establish two hospitals in Riyadh and Jeddah, expected to be completed by 2027.

The group has also begun construction on its first international hospital in Dubai with a $70 million investment. Scheduled to open in late 2026, the 200-bed Dubai facility will offer comprehensive healthcare services covering multiple medical, surgical, and oncological specialties.

Akdital’s international ambitions are backed by its strong domestic presence. The group currently operates 41 healthcare facilities across 24 Moroccan cities, providing 4,111 beds and employing nearly 10,000 professionals. Throughout last year, Akdital admitted over 670,000 patient cases and recorded a 96.7% satisfaction rate.

The company’s 2025-2030 expansion plan aims to increase its footprint to 62 establishments with over 6,000 hospital beds in 32 different Moroccan cities by 2027. The plan also includes opening 200 diagnostic centers in small towns within 100 km of each hospital by 2030, addressing healthcare disparities between urban and rural areas in Morocco.

Listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange since December 2022 under the ticker AKT, Akdital is positioning itself to become a pan-African and Middle Eastern benchmark in private healthcare, with its Gulf expansion representing a crucial step in that direction.
