LOT Polish Airlines Launches Direct Flights Between Warsaw and Marrakech

The Warsaw-Marrakech route, already served by low-cost carrier Wizz Air, is now getting additional capacity through Poland’s national airline service.

Marrakech – Polish national carrier LOT Polish Airlines inaugurated on Tuesday its first direct flight between Warsaw and Marrakech, expanding air connectivity between Poland and Morocco.

The Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft departed from Warsaw’s Chopin Airport and landed at Marrakech-Menara Airport around 2:00 p.m., carrying passengers, company representatives, and special guests celebrating the inaugural event.

The new air route will operate twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, as part of LOT’s 2025-2026 winter program. Flight LO163 departs Warsaw at 9:50 a.m., while the return flight LO164 leaves Marrakech at 3:35 p.m., arriving in Warsaw in the late evening.

These schedules have been designed to facilitate connections with LOT’s domestic and European network flights.

This direct connection follows several months of discussions between the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) and LOT Polish Airlines, culminating in a partnership agreement between the two entities.

According to Aziz Mnii, ONMT representative in Warsaw, the Warsaw-Marrakech route is expected to increase the number of Polish tourists visiting Morocco, which reached nearly 136,000 travelers in 2024.

“The goal of strengthening connectivity between the two countries is part of the commitment and shared desire to further enhance bilateral relations and intensify the Moroccan-Polish partnership to take it to a higher level,” stated Laila Boulejiouch from the Moroccan Embassy in Warsaw.

This direct line aims to strengthen connectivity and mobility between Poland and the North African country, bringing undeniable commercial and economic benefits to both countries, she noted.

With this new route, LOT Polish Airlines strengthens its presence in North Africa, offering travelers from Central and Eastern Europe a new gateway to Morocco.
