Rabat – A new flight connection has been launched between Lyon and Tangier, as EasyJet expands its route offerings between France and Morocco.
EasyJet has launched this new route in conjunction with Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport, flying direct flights from Lyon to Tangier every Tuesday and Saturday. Fares start at just 45 euros, according to the airline, which is offering other promotional packages.
This new link is intended to meet growing demand for travel between the two Mediterranean hubs, serving visitors seeking a sun-soaked retreat as well as those with family links in the region. In fact, for most travelers, a visit to Tangier is similar to a homecoming.
“By adding destinations such as Tangier, Lyon-based travelers can now enjoy new opportunities for authentic and sunny getaways,” said a statement by Lyon-Saint Exupéry airport regarding this new route.
This airport emphasized that the city’s “captivating blend of history, culture, and landscapes” makes it one of Morocco’s most exciting points of entry.
EasyJet’s new routes are part of an overall expansion plan in France, where it has its biggest base in Lyon. EasyJet operates 52 routes out of this base, including 4 new routes that start in autumn, serving Sharm El-Sheikh, Gran Canaria, Pristina, and Tangier.
EasyJet’s increased air connectivity in North Africa is also helping to fuel tourism in Morocco, which is growing in popularity among Europeans for its cultural heritage, coastal offerings, and hospitality.
