Rabat – The President of Morocco’s House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi El Alami, announced on Friday that the lower chamber of Parliament is committed to reinforcing its institutional and digital communication with the media and the national public.

Speaking before the Committee on Finance and Economic Development during the presentation of the 2026 draft budgets for both parliamentary chambers, Talbi El Alami highlighted several initiatives aimed at broadening the legislature’s openness to its surroundings and ensuring wider dissemination of parliamentary information.

Among the initiatives, he recalled the launch of the “Media Box,” an audiovisual studio designed to showcase parliamentary work and enhance its presence within Morocco’s national media landscape.

Talbi El Alami also noted that the live broadcast of public debates on the 2026 Finance Bill (PLF 2026) generated significant engagement, in accordance with the internal regulations of the institution approved by the Constitutional Court.

He presented data reflecting the growing public interest in parliamentary activity, stating that live broadcasts of PLF 2026 discussions reached 3.2 million views on Facebook and 355,000 on YouTube — equivalent to about 55,400 hours of viewing — in addition to 1.2 million views on Instagram. The House’s official YouTube channel also gained 3,700 new subscribers.

Meanwhile, the House’s Flickr platform for photo archives recorded an average of 20,000 views per day. These figures, Talbi El Alami underlined, illustrate the strong attention the public is paying to parliamentary commissions and their responsible debates.

He further emphasized the House’s efforts to advance its digital transformation toward a secure and efficient electronic parliament. This includes modernizing working mechanisms, improving performance, and prioritizing cybersecurity.

In this context, Talbi El Alami highlighted ongoing reforms such as the digitization of the legislative process and in-house events, the integration of artificial intelligence in documentation, the continued digitization of administrative and parliamentary procedures, and the reinforcement of the institution’s presence on its website and social media platforms.
