Rabat – Morocco’s national futsal team has qualified for the final of the Islamic Solidarity Games after a strong 6–3 win over Saudi Arabia on Sunday evening in Riyadh.
The match was part of the sixth edition of the Games, which run until November 21 in the Saudi capital. It was a tough and exciting semi-final, with both teams showing high energy and determination.
The first half ended 0–0, but Morocco opened the scoring early in the second half. Saudi Arabia quickly responded with a goal from Ihab Al-Saeed. Moroccan player Ismail Amzal then scored twice in a row, giving Morocco the lead. Saudi Arabia narrowed the gap just minutes before the end of regular time.
In extra time, Morocco scored three more goals to seal the win. The team also hit the crossbar three times during the match, showing how close they came to scoring even more.
With this victory, Morocco moves on to face Iran in the final. Iran reached the final after beating Uzbekistan 4–2.
Morocco is competing in the Islamic Solidarity Games with a delegation of 76 athletes across 12 sports.
These include athletics, judo, karate, taekwondo, wrestling, muay thai, jiu-jitsu, duathlon, para weightlifting, e-sports, futsal, and sports for athletes with disabilities.
The futsal team’s win adds to Morocco’s strong presence in the tournament and raises hopes for a gold medal in the final.
