King Mohammed VI has sent a message of congratulations to Khaled El-Enany on the occasion of his election as Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
In his message, the King extended his warmest congratulations and best wishes for success in carrying out his important responsibilities.
The King emphasized that El-Enany’s election as the first Arab personality to hold this prestigious position, reflects UNESCO’s Executive Board’s recognition of his strong professional skills and the extensive experience he has gained through various governmental and academic roles in his home country, Egypt.
The King noted that this “will undoubtedly be a valuable asset, enabling you to contribute to enhancing the performance of this international cultural institution in order to achieve its noble goals of fostering communication and understanding among peoples and cultures, and strengthening cooperation and solidarity between them.”
The King also reaffirmed Morocco’s unwavering support for all ambitious initiatives and constructive strategic plans implemented by UNESCO, as well as the country’s active commitment to the organization’s efforts to meet the challenges of sustainable development and to preserve the world’s human and cultural heritage.
