Rabat – Al Hilal’s chairman Prince Nawaf bin Saad personally presented a commemorative gift to Morocco’s goalkeeper Yassine Bounou on Tuesday night at Kingdom Arena.
A few days prior, Bounou had already received 2025 CAF Goalkeeper of the Year Prize at the CAF Awards ceremony held in Rabat on November 19. The award reflects his strong performances for both Morocco and Al Hilal during the year.
Bounou had a good year on two fronts: with Morocco, where he was the number one, and with Al Hilal, where his presence in goal is one of the team’s main assets.

So the gesture from Prince Nawaf is logical and symbolic. The club signed a top goalkeeper, he delivered, and was voted the best in Africa. As a result, the chairman thanked him in a memorable and special way.
What stands out in the photo is how relaxed it looks: Bounou in Al Hilal colours, the chairman beside him, both smiling. It’s not a “ceremony” but a snapshot of normal club life — a chairman who knows the value of his players, and a player who knows the value of his club, and appreciates the recognition.
For Al Hilal fans, it’s a small but nice confirmation: the goalkeeper of their defence is now officially Africa’s best for 2025. Yet another line on Bounou’s CV and a nice reminder that what he does with his national team, and what he does in Riyadh, are seen and appreciated on both sides.
