Rabat — The National Caravan Against Digital Violence Targeting Women and Girls made a stop in Casablanca on Saturday, where it connected with a large audience including students, local associations, and institutional actors working to prevent risks in digital spaces.
The National Council for Human Rights (CNDH) organizes this caravan as part of a nationwide campaign to raise awareness about various forms of digital violence, including cyberbullying, blackmail, and sharing images without consent.
The initiative seeks to build a culture of digital safety among young people and encourage responsible use of digital platforms.
The Casablanca stop featured interactive workshops led by cybersecurity experts, psychologists, and representatives from child protection organizations.
These workshops covered the risks linked to digital technology use, reporting mechanisms, available legal pathways, and prevention methods to protect against electronic violence.
Saadia Ouaddah, president of the Regional Commission for Human Rights in the Casablanca-Settat region, said that this initiative primarily aims to break down barriers around electronic violence and encourage victims to report incidents and seek help.
She stressed that protecting women and girls in digital spaces remains a collective responsibility.
The caravan also featured national mechanisms for supporting and assisting victims, particularly listening services, specialized units, and reporting platforms dedicated to protection from electronic violence.
The CNDH launched this national campaign against electronic violence targeting women and girls on November 26 in Rabat under the slogan “We Won’t Stay Silent About Violence.”
The campaign aims to strengthen protection of women’s and girls’ rights, both in digital spaces and beyond, shed light on technological uses that violate these rights, and reinforce prevention capabilities and methods.
