Moroccan fighter Oussama Assli delivered the performance of his life at Karate Combat 58, winning the Welterweight World Championship after a hard-fought win over Australia’s James “Sweet As” Honey in Florida.

The fight went the full five rounds, and Assli grew stronger as the fight progressed. He pushed the pace with sharp movement, clean combinations and smart pressure that slowly wore down the two-time world champion.

By the final rounds, Honey was struggling to keep up with the Moroccan’s rhythm. When the final bell rang, the judges had no doubt that Assli had done enough to claim the Golden Belt and a place among Karate Combat’s elite.

A tactical win

Karate Combat’s welterweight division is one of its toughest, which makes this victory even more meaningful. The event at Universal Studios in Doral delivered plenty of action, but Assli’s title win was the moment that electrified fans.

His performance was praised for its discipline and fighting IQ, showing a mature, controlled approach against a dangerous and highly respected opponent.

Now champion, Assli is expected to face top challengers in future title defenses. Karate Combat officials highlighted his “incredible journey” to the top, and fans are already eager to see who he fights next.
