Moroccan fighter Oussama Assli delivered the performance of his life at Karate Combat 58, winning the Welterweight World Championship after a hard-fought win over Australia’s James “Sweet As” Honey in Florida.
The fight went the full five rounds, and Assli grew stronger as the fight progressed. He pushed the pace with sharp movement, clean combinations and smart pressure that slowly wore down the two-time world champion.
By the final rounds, Honey was struggling to keep up with the Moroccan’s rhythm. When the final bell rang, the judges had no doubt that Assli had done enough to claim the Golden Belt and a place among Karate Combat’s elite.
