Rabat – Morocco’s coach Tarik Sektioui has expressed his wish to face fellow Moroccan Jamal Sellami, who is leading Jordan, in the final of the Arab Cup 2025.
Speaking ahead of Morocco’s match against the UAE, Sektioui said that both he and Sellami represent the progress of Moroccan coaches, who have earned respect in Africa and the Arab world.
Sektioui explained that such a final would symbolize the strength of Moroccan football and the results of long‑term planning.
He added that nothing comes by chance, pointing to the vision and investment that have shaped the country’s recent success.
He also thanked King Mohammed VI for supporting sports development, which has helped Moroccan teams compete at higher levels.
Morocco will play the UAE on Monday afternoon, while Jordan faces Saudi Arabia later the same day. Both matches will decide who advances to the next stage, with the possibility of a Moroccan coaching duel in the final.
Sektioui has already underlined Morocco’s ambition in this tournament. After victories against Syria and Saudi Arabia, he praised his players’ resilience despite injuries and fatigue. He has made clear that Morocco’s goal is not just participation but winning titles.
A potential final between Sektioui and Sellami would show the growing influence of Moroccan coaches abroad.
