Rabat—Morocco secured a comfortable 3–0 win over Zambia in their final Group A match at AFCON 2025, finishing top of the group with 7 points and officially moving into the Round of 16.

The Atlas Lions got off to a flying start, with Ayoub El Kaabi opening the scoring in the 10th minute with a header from a corner. Morocco quickly doubled their lead when Brahim Díaz slotted home with his left foot after a clever assist from Ezzalzouli.

With that goal, Díaz became only the second Moroccan player to score in three consecutive AFCON matches. The first half was Morocco at their very best. Fluid, confident, and operating with sharp automatic movements that made them look dangerous every time they went forward.

Morocco made it 3–0 after a VAR check when Ayoub El Kaabi scored his second goal of the match, another beautiful goal finish reminiscent of his first one in the tournament.

More cheers from fans came when, returning from injury, Achraf Hakimi finally entered the pitch for the first time in the tournament, replacing Mazraoui. The stadium erupted as fans cheered welcoming the star fullback.

With the second win, and after the draw agasint Mali, Morocco finish top of Group A with 7 points and are through to the Round of 16. Mali also secured qualification, finishing second with 3 points. Comoros, third in the group, will confirm its spot among the best third-placed teams after all other group games conclude.
