Casablanca – Morocco’s women’s national team will receive a significant financial boost after securing qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, according to Moroccan outlet Al Mountakhab.
The Atlas Lionesses booked their place at the global tournament after finishing fourth at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which is being hosted by Morocco.
According to Al Mountakhab, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) is set to receive $1.56 million (MAD 14.46 million) as the FIFA prize allocated to teams qualifying for the World Cup.
The financial rewards increase as teams progress through the tournament.
Reaching the round of 16 would reportedly raise the allocation to $1.87 million (MAD 17.33 million), while a quarterfinal appearance would bring the figure to $2.18 million (MAD 20.21 million).
The rewards become even larger for the final four.
The fourth-placed team would receive $2.455 million (MAD 22.76 million), while the third-placed side would collect $2.61 million (MAD 24.24 million ). The World Cup runner-up would receive $3.015 million (MAD 27.95 million), with the champions taking home $4.29 million (MAD 39.78 million).
For Morocco, the qualification represents another important milestone for a team that has established itself among Africa’s leading women’s sides in recent years.
The financial boost could also provide additional resources for preparations, player development and future international competitions as Morocco looks ahead to its second appearance at the Women’s World Cup.
