Rabat – According to Le Matin, fuel prices in Morocco recorded a decline at the pump starting from today’s early hours, marking a reversal after two consecutive increases observed in recent weeks. The adjustment took effect at 00h01 and applies across service stations nationwide.
Information obtained from fuel distributors indicates that the price of diesel dropped by MAD 0.65 ($0.071) per liter, while Unleaded Premium gasoline registered a decrease of MAD 0.44 ($0.048) per liter.
The reduction was implemented simultaneously by distributors and became visible during the night from Monday to Tuesday.
As a result of this adjustment, diesel prices fell below the symbolic threshold of MAD 10 dirhams ($ 1.10) per liter for the first time in several years.
At most stations, the price settled around MAD 9.95 ($1.09) per liter, although slight variations remain depending on location.
Gasoline prices also eased, with Unleaded Premium now displayed at approximately MAD 13.05 ($1.44) per liter across many points of sale.
The latest decline follows two upward revisions that had kept fuel prices at elevated levels. During that period, diesel remained consistently above MAD 10 ($ 1.10) per liter while gasoline stayed beyond the MAD 13 ($1.43) mark.
The new pricing offers some immediate relief at the pump for motorists as well as transport professionals who had been affected by sustained high costs.
Distributors cited by Le Matin attribute the decrease to lower supply costs in international markets.
The adjustment reflects recent movements observed in energy prices despite the broader volatility that continues to characterize the sector.
The updated prices are expected to remain in effect at all stations throughout the country, starting today, with implementation confirmed across the distribution network.
