Mohammedia – The Junior Chamber International (JCI) of Rabat held its local convention, bringing together members, youth leaders, and experts for a day focused on employment, skills development, and civic engagement, while also marking 15 years of the organization’s presence and activity in the capital.
In an interview with MWN, Miriam Bouizgar, elected Local President of JCI Rabat for the 2026 term, said the convention reflected both continuity and renewal within the organization.
She explained that the event followed a year shaped by three major milestones, beginning with a conference dedicated to the Moroccan job market, its current state, and the challenges facing young people.
The conference brought together national experts, including Youssef Guerraoui Filali, Loubna Al Ouardighi, and Lahcen El Mejdoubi, with the aim of offering participants clearer insight into employment realities in Morocco.
Bouizgar noted that the convention also served as an opportunity to celebrate 15 years of JCI’s work in Rabat, recalling a long record of projects, partnerships with institutions, and sustained engagement with young citizens across the city.
She added that the gathering concluded with the General Assembly, which provided members with the opportunity to elect the new executive board that will represent the organization in 2026 and continue initiatives launched in recent years.

Youssef Guerraoui Filali, President of the CMGM, said the event offered young people a valuable space to strengthen their capacities and better understand the Moroccan job market.
He explained that discussions focused on skills development, market dynamics, and available activities, stressing the importance of aligning youth competencies with labor market needs.
Guerraoui Filali expressed enthusiasm about participating in the initiative, describing dialogue and information-sharing as essential elements in addressing challenges linked to youth unemployment.
Another perspective came from Fatim Zahra Benabbou, Vice President of the International Relations Department at JCI Rabat, who spoke to MWN about purpose-driven leadership and the importance of positive energy in professional and civic spaces.
She outlined her background as a financial technology specialist and her ongoing PhD research exploring the intersection between fintech and international relations, an area she said reflects evolving global dynamics.
Benabbou also highlighted initiatives carried out within the organization to equip Moroccan youth with diplomatic tools and practical skills, particularly in relation to key national issues.
She stressed that JCI’s approach is rooted in the belief that youth are not a future promise but a present force to be empowered today through engagement, dialogue, and concrete action.
