Rabat – Police at the Tanger Med Port arrested on Saturday a 29-year-old French national of Tunisian origin, who was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the Tunisian judicial authorities.
The arrest followed a check at the Interpol database, showing that the suspect was wanted internationally on the basis of a red notice issued by the National Central Bureau in Tunisia, on suspicion of involvement in a criminal gang and drug trafficking.
Police put the suspect in custody as part of extradition procedures, in accordance with the instructions of the competent public prosecutor’s office.The National Central Bureau in Rabat or Interpol Rabat, under the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), informed its counterpart in Tunisia of the arrest.
This operation is part of Morocco’s efforts and the framework of ongoing international security cooperation aimed at tracking down individuals wanted in cross-border cases.
