Atlas Lions Continue to Put in Work at Maâmora Ahead of Nigeria Semi-Final

With a massive home crowd expected to have their back again, the Atlas Lions are working towards another winning performance on the pitch.

Rabat—The Moroccan national team is currently training intensely at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmora, putting in the work as they get ready to face Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations semi-final on Wednesday.

Right after their 2–0 quarter-final win against Cameroon, the Atlas Lions immediately got back to training. Head coach Walid Regragui is focused on keeping the team’s intensity high while making sure everyone recovers properly for their next massive game.

Key players like Achraf Hakimi, Brahim Díaz, and goalkeeper Yassine Bounou were all present for the group training sessions as the squad worked on their game plan. Midfielder Azzedine Ounahi, who got a slight injury in the last match, is still being checked out by the doctors but has stayed close to the team during practice.

Morocco reaching the semi-finals is their best run in the AFCON 2025 since way back in 2004, and naturally, expectations among the home crowd are huge. In response, Regragui has told his players to keep their heads down and stay focused, stressing that the job is far from finished.

The Atlas Lions will face Nigeria this Wednesday night at 9 p.m. at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, with a historic spot in the AFCON 2025 final on the line.
