Rabat – The Morocco vs Nigeria semi-finals match is coming in a matter of hours. Fans are already packed with ambition, hope, and pride — rallying behind the Atlas Lions who have not reached the semi-finals since 2004.
Moroccans are full of hope to see the Atlas Lions book their ticket to the final and ultimately win the trophy – and if they do, this will be their second title in AFCON history.
The match between Morocco and Nigeria will take place at Rabat’s Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium at 9 p.m. Moroccan time.
If you don’t have a ticket to watch the game in the stadium, many cafes across the country stream the match with an energetic atmosphere, chants, and applause play by play. Just make sure you bring a little extra money, as the average ticket to book your place is MAD 80-100.
You can also watch the game at your place as many streamers and television channels air it. BeIN Sports Connect is among the channels that will air the game, in addition to Morocco’s Arriyadia television channel, as well as other international broadcasters like Fanatiz and FanCode.
For Morocco’s starting lineup, Coach Walid Regragui is expected to include key players like Noussair Mazraoui, Achraf Hakimi, Yassine Bounou, Nayf Aguerd, Masina, El Aynaoui, El Khanouss, Saibari, El Kaabi, and of course, superstars like Brahim Diaz and Ezzalzouli.
As for heavyweight Nigeria, the starting lineup could include Osayi Samuel, Adams, Osimhen, Ndidi, Lookman, Onyeka, Nwabili, and Ajayi.
Nigeria is a three-time AFCON champion. They won the tournament in 1980, 1994, and 2013.
Nigeria’s ready to do whatever to win the game, likely to deploy a defensive approach to tackle the match, letting Morocco have ball possession, while using a block.
Regragui has acknowledged that this will not be an easy game “at all,” but knows that the Atlas Lions are ready to roar.
