Rabat – The Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the US announced that they are holding the second plenary meeting of the Global Forum to Prevent Radiological and Nuclear Terrorism (Global FTPRNT) from February 3–5 in Rabat. 

According to a joint statement, the Global FTPRNT is a shared commitment and international cooperation to counter the threat of radiological and nuclear (R/N) terrorism. 

The event serves as a platform, convening experts from around the world to discuss national preparedness, enhance interagency coordination, improve crisis decision-making, and promote effective information sharing, the statement said.

“Through expert exchanges, interactive briefings, working groups, and scenario-based discussions, participants will address the evolving risk environment and share best practices informed by real-world experience,” the joint press release added.

This year’s session will include several activities, including a counter-R/N terrorism exercise coordinated by the Moroccan Ministry of Interior.

The agenda will also feature focused discussions on nuclear forensics, detection, response, and mitigation, legal frameworks, emerging technologies, and strategic communications. 

The joint statement concluded by reiterating the commitment their shared commitment to strengthen global security against radiological and nuclear terrorism, the two countries athe importance of this forum, and advancing our shared commitment to strengthening global security against radiological and nuclear terrorism
