Rabat – A partnership agreement has been signed to launch a new Industrial Acceleration Zone (IAZ) in the commune of Ouled Saleh, marking the second such zone in Nouaceur Province and reinforcing the area’s role as a key industrial hub in the Casablanca-Settat region.
The agreement was signed by the Minister of Industry and Trade, the Wali (Governor) of the Casablanca-Settat region, the President of the Regional Council, the Governor of Nouaceur Province, the Director General of the Casablanca Urban Agency, the Director General of the Regional Investment Center of Casablanca-Settat, and the Chairman of the Board of Al Omrane Group.
According to a statement by Al Omrane Group, the signing reflects strong institutional mobilization around a strategic project aimed at strengthening the industrial momentum of Nouaceur Province, which plays a major role in supporting the region’s economic competitiveness.
The Ouled Saleh Industrial Acceleration Zone will cover a total area of 476 hectares, making it the fourth largest industrial acceleration zone in Morocco. The project is designed to complement existing activity zones and strengthen the investment appeal and industrial ecosystem of Nouaceur Province and the wider Casablanca-Settat region.
The zone benefits from a strategic geographic location in the heart of Nouaceur Province. It is close to Mohammed V International Airport and connected to major highways, including the A1 linking Tangier to Safi via Rabat, Casablanca, and El Jadida, and the A3 linking Casablanca to Agadir through Marrakech. The site is also accessible through several key road networks, ensuring smooth connectivity for industrial and logistics activities.
Under the agreement, partners will prepare a comprehensive development plan and conduct land, topographic, urban, technical, and financial studies. The goal is to develop an integrated development model and a solid business plan to ensure the project’s economic viability and long-term sustainability.
The project aims to establish modern industrial infrastructure and competitive support services that meet market standards and the needs of targeted industrial and logistics sectors.
The statement added that the partners seek to generate tangible economic and social impact by boosting productive investment, creating sustainable jobs, and offering an integrated industrial and logistics platform for national and international investors.
The statement concluded that this project reaffirms the shared commitment of all signatories to strengthening the industrial competitiveness of the Casablanca-Settat region, consolidating the strategic role of Nouaceur Province, and contributing to sustainable national development.
