Rabat – Morocco’s Tourism Office (ONMT) is rallying at the Berlin International Tourism Fair to promote the Moroccan tourism market in Germany.

The tourism fair is taking place from March 3-5, bringing together nearly 6,000 exhibitors and over 170 destinations.

The tourism office’s goal includes improving air connectivity, including through agreements with German airlines like Condor, Eurowings, and Discover Airlines to increase capacity on existing routes and open new connections to high potential Moroccan destinations.

According to ONMT, Moroccan carrier Royal Air Maroc supports this campaign by expanding operations to Germany; including new routes linking Nador to Frankfurt and Dusseldorf. This is in addition to the recently launched Casablanca-Munich route.

ONMT is also using the tourism hub to launch a plan to strengthen Morocco’s position in the German market, a statement from the tourism office said.

Achraf Fayda, the General Director of ONMT is leading the delegation alongside Hamid Bentahar, President of the National Tourism Confederation.

Zohour Alaoui, Morocco’s ambassador to Germany, attended the official inauguration of the Moroccan pavilion, which is taking over 1,000 square meters to showcase the country’s offering.

Over 140 tourism professionals are also deployed to represent Morocco and showcase its tourism assets, with particular focus on seven regions – including Oriental, Fez-Meknes, and Souss-Massa.

“This structured presence aims to boost sales efforts for the destination, generate new travel flows, and strengthen existing partnerships,” ONMT said.

The office also strengthened ties with TUI group and signed a partnership with Der, Germany’s second largest tour operator.

The agreement aims to achieve 25% growth over three years.

Over 930,000 German tourists visited Morocco in 2025, representing a 11% increase compared to 2024.

Germany is now Morocco’s seventh largest source market, accounting for 5% of international arrivals.
