Rabat – Cristiano Ronaldo has picked up a hamstring injury, confirmed by Al Nassr after their recent Saudi Pro League win over Al Fayha.

The 41-year-old forward left the pitch in pain in the match, having already missed a penalty earlier. He was substituted in the 81st minute, and the club later announced he has started a rehabilitation program, with his recovery being monitored daily.

The injury comes at a crucial stage. Ronaldo has scored 22 goals and provided 7 assists in 24 league appearances, making him the top scorer in the Saudi Pro League and a key figure in Al‑Nassr’s push for their first championship under Jorge Jesus.

His consistency has been vital, and his absence would leave a major gap in both club and country.

Ronadlo’s availability for upcoming fixtures against Neom SC and Al-Khaleej is uncertain, and his participation in Portugal’s friendlies against Mexico and the USMNT later this month is also in doubt.

Adding to the tension, reports surfaced claiming Ronaldo had left Saudi Arabia after a drone attack on the U.S. embassy in Riyadh.

Flight data showed his private jet heading to Madrid, sparking speculation about his future in the country. However, other sources insist he remains committed to Al-Nassr and is continuing treatment at the club’s facilities.

Regional instability has already affected football schedules. The Asian Football Confederation postponed Al-Nassr’s Champions League Round of 16 clash against Al Wasl, citing safety concerns.

While the delay disrupts the calendar, it gives Ronaldo more time to recover without missing knockout matches.
